Day 334 – Adin asked if I could make her a tassel mini-skirt from a t-shirt. So while she was at school, I made an interpretation of her description. Nope. Not what she envisioned. In addition, my measurements were off and it was way too short. Well, some projects are like that. And, I still have no idea what she really wanted.

Day 333 – I needed to make a collage today – just because. It’s a minimal composition with 26 windows using cardstock over a winter photo printed on vellum.

Day 332 – Stella and Adin each made a tree ornament by threading pieces cut from a sweatshirt, a felted wool sweater, and a remnant of flannel onto hanger wire. A jingle bell hangs below, and a felt star caps the top.

Day 330 – Busy day. Preparing samples and materials for crafting with 3rd graders, and boxing up handmade gifts, and making more wish tags for the advent calendar, and…
A day of checking off tasks is productive and rewarding, but not as creatively satisfying.

Day 328 – Working on different ideas for kid-friendly holiday crafts. These prototypes are 3D modern ornament trees based on a popup card design. The cuts can be made with scissors rather than requiring an Xacto knife. I might try making these out of fused plastic sheets. Stiff felt would be great too.

Day 327 – My daughters and I each made a felted ball with a bell inside. We were going to make ornaments but the store was all out of white, red, and green roving. Oh well, these are fun to juggle. We may add felt appliqués to each ball.
