Day 259 – Creating some simple seasonal crafts to do with my girls this weekend. 3D and 2D pumpkins from Post-its, using the concept of symmetry. (Taken with Instagram)

Day 258 – Slow progress on the triptych. Each panel represents a dance – slow to fast. Each also represents one of three levels of society – self, family, community. The concept is still very sketchy. (Taken with Instagram)

Day 256 – Homemade marionette for the girls. I cut a yardstick and bolted it into a cross. I used fishing line and slip knots to attach the four legs and head to screw eyelets at the ends of the cross. We can easily switch out the spotted dog for any other floppy plushie (except the floppy cats I made which don’t actually flop yet.) (Taken with Instagram)

Day 253 – Floppy cat, take 3. The shape is better but I have to use different stuffing, or add some joints, so it actually flops. (Taken with Instagram)

Day 252 – Floppy cat experiment is ongoing. The shape still isn’t right, but Stella says she loves it. After trying to take some pictures, she said the kitty cat was crying (too much posing.) so she soothed and hugged it until I promised I was finished taking pictures. (Taken with Instagram)

Day 250 – Scary. I needed to draw my “critical voice” so I could destroy it. Say hello and goodbye to this hideous creature. S/he has been ripped from the pages of my sketchbook and set alight over the stove. (Taken with Instagram)
